I found this product grew on me over time. Initially, I found the scent strange but it became quite addictive and reminded me of a walk through a forest with nettles and moss and all things green.
My Fiance said the smell reminded him of the hemp ropes used for the horses on the farm when he was a child.
I am used to products which lather and it was difficult to judge how much to use as it seemed to disappear and you ended up pouring more out of the bottle.
I found it worked best if applied to damp skin and then it produced a creamy film which then washed off easily.
It left my skin feeling soothed and softer too and the scent lingered for some time after.
The first thing I noticed was the dark maroon colour of the bottle and the chunky flip top. The shape of the bottle was easy to hold in the shower and although I have weak hands, I did not have any bother opening it up and it snapped shut well to avoid leakage.
The only downside I can see is that as you are nearing the end, you will not be able to stand it upside down easily to get at the last of the contents because of the pointed top.
The shower cream is a pale pink colour and has a rich, creamy consistency and I have found a little goes a long way. It lathers well and has a light fragrance which I cannot decide if I like or not as it seems to be flowery but with a chemical undertone.
I have been using the body wash for a few weeks now and I feel my skin is softer and more nourished but I think it was a gradual improvement rather than after the one wash as advertised on the bottle.
I would have liked to know more about the active ingredients as all that is mentioned on the front of the bottle is Nutrium and that means nothing to me and I wasn't any wiser when I looked on the back. I prefer descriptions which inspire you and mentally give you a boost even before you use it such as luxurious oils and exotic scents.
Also, I was not keen on the pro.age name as even if this product is being marketed at the mature skin age group, (I am 56), I want something to turn back the clock and not particularly think about aging.
I don't think this product would jump out at you on the shelf as it is quite dark and subdued in style no matter how great the contents are.
Overall, I found Dove pro.age to be a good, dependable body wash that got the job done but if I am being honest, I would probably rather buy something with ingredients that would appeal to my senses and look prettier on the bathroom shelf.
My first reaction on receiving Total Energy Body Gel was surprise at the bold Bronze colour of the packaging which I thought was quite unusual.
I opened it up and was immediately hit by notes of Ginger and Bergamot. I love skin products with a Ginger scent so I was keen to try it out.
I thought the texture was more like a lotion than a gel as it was quite runny but I liked the creamy colour and I loved the little grains which explode in a burst of spice as you apply it to the skin. I found it quick to absorb and it left my skin feeling soft and energized and the after-scent lasted well too.
This product lived up to its statement of being an 'enlivening body gel' as it was invigorating and refreshing to use and the lingering aroma brightened my mood through out the day.
I received the 10ml sachet and as I have dry ends and oily roots I wondered how I would find this product.
However, it was easy to use and left my hair soft and silky and not greasy. I loved the scent on my hair too.
It felt like my hair had improved in texture and strength too.
I found a little goes quite a long way so although it is quite expensive i think it would last a long time.
