Max Factor Kohl Pencil stayed my No. 1 eye pencil for a long time (2 years ago I switched to liquid eyeliners). Actually it was the first one and remained the best one for me in terms of pencils for solid 7 or 8 years (in 020 Black shade). MF Kohl Pencil's design is simple and unassuming; it has a sturdy protective cap for the tip. The texture of the tip is just perfect enough - not hard (or on the verge of damaging the lid), but quite soft and saturated enough that it takes 2 strokes to achieve the desired look of a clear line. I had no adverse effects using the pencil - no irritation, no puffiness, nothing. It delivered a steady intensive black colour that faded a bit with time creating a somewhat 'smoky eyes' look, i.e. the line itself didn't stay sharp and clearly defined as that made by liquid eyeliners (that's why actually I switched to the latter ones plus liquid ones spare time compared to pencils). The big bonus was that being a pencil it was perfect in terms of storing, carrying around (no leakages, no smudging another items, no drying out). The downside of that was I needed a sharpener when the tip of the pencil broke leaving me with a wooden crater (it happened rarely but happened nonetheless).
I recommend it to people who prefer pencils to liquid eyeliners - it is definitely the best kohl pencil I have tried.
Great for smudging, lining and creating definition to the eye.
Doesn't last long on the waterline.
Kohl pencil is the only eyeliner I use based on the fact it is soft on the eyes, lasts long and smudges well for smokey eyes. I have been using this max factor one for years as it is great for making the eyes more aesthetic and mysterious.
