Benefit They're Real! Push-up Liner Hot

The packaging design really lets this product down. it can not be used properly.

I bought this in a blue because I already own loads of black liners so wanted something different. I paid full price and I really do regret paying so much money. It has been hyped up so much I thought it would make it easier to apply, I was so wrong. When I first used it it took a lot of turns to get the product to the top I was expecting a smooth gel but it was like a normal pencil liner not a gel. I found it hard to follow exactly what the instructions were saying and I just could get mine to apply nicely. It's also hard to remove so if you make a mistake then you need to use a really good make up remover. Also It was breaking off even from the first use. After a week it was completely dried up. I'm gutted that I spent so much money on this. If it was more gel like then I think it would apply nicely with the help of the flexible tip and it's shape to get close to the lashes.
I like the packaging it's nice like the other products in the They're Real line and is nice and sturdy but this made me unhappy and I won't be buying it again.

Benefit They're Real! Push-up Liner found me as a part of amazing package of Benefit They're Real! Sexy on the Run Kit being a giveaway prize of the Beauty On Trial last month. Thus as soon I laid my hand on it I dove into trials.
This Push-up Liner goes in style, the design is totally classy. Its size instantly makes it a good companion on any trip. However, despite the instructions attached it is not a piece of cake to decode how exactly to apply the liner in order not to mess up. It has a flexible rubber tip with a stopper which should be removed in order for the contents to be pushed out by turning the base of the liner. It took me more than several turns before the actual substance showed up. And it proved to be not a gel at all, more like a soft pencil and nothing like a fibre-tip pen of its competitor eyeliner I usually use. To be fair from that point on the trials went without major surprises i.e. the liner provided a jet black line more saturated than I would have expected from a pencil-like liner, though it still was more a pencil in work rather than a liner. The line in question survived the whole day on my eyelid and stayed put even after the afternoon nap I took with my make-up on (just for the sake of experiment). Such durability of the liner may be considered both as advantage and disadvantage that is if accidentally drawn a different arc than you would intended to, a plain soap will not be enough to get rid of it - you will definitely need a remover or micellar water at least. One more thing which is still a mystery to me is whether the stopper should be put in place after each application for the liner not to dry.
At the end I had quite mixed feelings about Benefit They're Real! Push-up Liner, because on the one hand it did its actual job with flying colours (namely black colour) providing me with long-lasting seductive looks, but on the other the mechanics of the application and fuss about it as well as fear for the liner to dry up faster than it should left me with a desire to use it only when I have a lot of time and require a very special makeover. Plus it is not a cheap thing as I may judge from the price in the listing.
All things considered I would not recommend it since I prefer more liquid eyeliners and steer clear of eye pencils because one of my eyelids tends to wrinkle horribly at applying a make up and any pencil usually provides a hashed line rather than a solid uninterrupted one.

I received a trial size of this product and mine did not have a gel consistency, more of a soft kajal texture when squeezed. I found it a little messy as it ended up on my hands and I found it impossible to get a lash hugging line. I repeat that this was a sample size and I would advise trying the full sized item at the counter BEFORE you make a purchase.

I had a trial size of this product. When I pulled out the tip protector and squeezed up the gel it came up in one lump like a piece of liquorice. I did try to use this and it seems that it would be very easy to draw a precise line. However, it did nothing as it had dried out.
