Amie’s Story

Amie (‘female friend’ in French) is the brainchild of Fiona Parkhouse, a former marketing executive at Estée Lauder. She was inspired by her teenage daughter Samantha’s needs for an effective and reasonably priced skincare range.

“I wanted something that would respect her still child-perfect skin but deal with the changes that puberty was starting to bring, such as increased oiliness and breakouts. But I didn’t want her using harsh, aggressive chemicals or medicated products. I wanted a natural range that would be gentle yet effective, appealing and affordable.”

The new skincare range was created for young and sensitive skin like Samantha’s and her friends. It provides a solution that really works for girls as young as 12 upwards.

“Lots of girls have lovely skin that experiences extra-oiliness and breakouts during their teens and twenties. In their quest for effortlessly blemish-free skin, they are often tempted to use products that are too harsh or aggressive for their young skin which can cause more problems in the long run than they solve: for example, skin can feel dry and stripped, itchy, sensitised and can also lead to the over-production of oil and more spots, not fewer!”

Gentle and Ethical Ingredients

‘Natural, non-irritating ingredients are important in skincare for teenagers. At their age, skin is still sensitive and easily irritated while prone to breakouts.’
