+ avalanche of fresh aquatic scent
+ perfect for the summer
+ wide-spread (happens to be almost in every perfume shop)
- cheap plastic lid (breakable)
- heavy glass bottle
- can get boring over time
Davidoff Cool Water Woman Eau de Toilette graced the world with its appearance back in 1996, while I got to know it 11 years later. The best feature of this fragrance is its freshness, its aquatic appeal, its lotus and water lily notes. Its design (with a lid on) reminds me of a lighthouse that promises a respite from surging ocean waves. Being great in looks the bottle is not exactly practicable - it has a lid made of not very durable plastic. I bought this EDT twice and both times I somehow managed to get the lid in question cracked. The bottle is heavy to carry around and if it slips it easily might sustain damage. It also has a reduced longevity which is no surprise for EDT.
To summarise, I would advise using Cool Water Woman in the summer, since for me it contributes to overall feeling of freedom, openness and coolness.
Lovely fresh scent.
I have worn this perfume for quite a longtime now and have gone through countless bottles of it, and I'm sure I will go through countless more. It smells lovely and fresh and is great as a day time perfume, it has a classy, fresh fragrant scent that doesn't wear off throughout the day, not much is needed so a bottle will last a while. It is especially suited for the summer months, however I wear it all year round and it never fails to get me compliments when I wear it.
Not a female version of the male scent but fine for all that.
Value for money
Ease of use
In expensive and a nicely complex scent
Poor projection and longevity
Released in 1996 and created by Pierre Bourdon who alos made Kouros for YSL in '81. The top notes are Ozonic notes, Citrus, Pineapple, Blackcurrant, Honeydew Melon, Lotus Blossom, Water Lily. Middle Notes are May Rose, Jasmine, Muguet and the base notes are Orris, Vetiver, Sandalwood, Peach, Mulberry.
Nothing like the male scent which is aquatic and lavender whereas this is citrus. Pleasant but not spectacular and with relatively poor projection and longevity. Not a favourite but wearable.
This scent reminds me of holidays, beaches and warm sea breezes
Fresh and exotic fragrance with fruits, florals and sandalwood. Excellent longevity and great value for money. Beautiful aqua blue, heavyweight blue teardrop shaped bottle
I really love this fragrance and it has somewhat of an iconic status in the fragrance world. Whenever I am wearing this scent I am asked about it. It is both fresh but floral and exotic. This is quite a complicated scent with many layers and personalities. I review on how it suits my skin but I would imagine that this fragrance would develop differently on others. The bottle is a beautiful heavyweight aqua blue teardrop, indicative of the name. On first application there are fresh and sweet top notes of melon, blackcurrant and pineapple and quickly you can detect the middle notes of jasmine, water lily and lily of the valley which are heady but not overpowering florals. On dry down the base notes have sandalwood and blackcurrant which gives the overall fragrance a warm touch. This scent is at its beast for me on dry down as the florals have dissipated slightly and leaves a fresh but warm powdery scent. The longevity is excellent and I can still detect traces of the fragrance after several hours of wear. This scent reminds me of holidays, beaches and warm sea breezes
