Summary
i got a tester of this and thought it was ok, just ok. it was a bit overwhelming. on the plus side the fragrance lasted for ages and i could still smell it on my jumper when i washed it. it smells quite nice but definitely doesn't warrant the price tag, i've smelt a lot better for a lot less

As a fan of all thing s Elemis I purchased this fragrance on a whim. The bottle is beautiful. It is square in design and has a graduated purple to clear glass design with matching square lid. The fragrance comes with its own velvet carry case which is a beautiful touch to the overall design. The fragrance itself is quite strong and you are at risk of this being overpowering if you over apply it. On application the top notes Cinnamon Bark, Pink Pepper and Clove Bud Oil which have a slight bitter spiciness but the middle notes of Ylang Ylang, Indian Jasmine Sambac and Tuberose quickly seep through. Sadly the Ylang Ylang dominates this part of the fragrance which is where the fragrance can be a little sickly to some noses. The base notes of Frankincense, Somali Incense, Sandalwood and Moroccan Cedarwood are the warmer parts of the scent. The dry down is still led by the Ylang Ylang which is a shame with so many other beautiful ingredients.
On the whole the fragrance is slightly unbalanced but if applied carefully this is still a very gorgeous, exotic and appealing scent. Is it worth the price tag? Sadly I am not convinced
