This is a perfume of many layers and everytime I wear it I enjoy different elements. It lasts quite well on me too. Feminine but with depth and warmth and not sickly sweet.
I decided that for 2015 I was going to step out of my Chanel scented comfort zone and try some new fragrances. I got this 30 ml Petale Noir on sale, so thought if I didn't like it, I wouldn't feel like I'd wasted a chunk of change and could pass it on without remorse. What first got my attention was the gorgeously vintage-feel of the fragrance. The scent reminds me very much of something my mother (or even grandmother) would have worn. Top note is very floral, but shifts down a gear to a wonderfully warm rosey scent. The base is surprisingly masculine (amber, sandalwood, cedar and musk) but this doesn't make it too strong. I think this is where the "noir" part of the fragrance name may come from. Again, I can't emphasise enough the vintage feel of this perfume. I would love to be able to try it in an eau du toilette, but AP don't make one.
