Agent Provocateur Pétale Noir EDP

Description

Pétale Noir, the exquisite new fragrance from Agent Provocateur, is a deep floral scent with a hint of oriental mystique. The launch of the new Pétale Noir fragrance personifies the modern and naturally confident woman, but be warned, she knows what she wants and knows how to get it.
The fragrance is made with the finest of oils featuring dramatic florals for the heart and precious woods, enhanced by musk crystals and sweet spicy accords that ignite the senses. A rich, vintage rose pink juice, perfectly complements the delicately floral, and beautifully shaped sensual bottle. Yet beware, things are not how they seem as the soft petals make way for dangerous prickly thorns. This contrast in mood is further emphasised by a striking black chain around the neck, symbolising the stark suggestive passion that binds us together.

This is a perfume of many layers and everytime I wear it I enjoy different elements. It lasts quite well on me too. Feminine but with depth and warmth and not sickly sweet.

Strongest points
The best of the recent Agent Provacateur range in my view. More subtle and less harsh initial hit.

This is a lovely romantic floral aroma

Love the dry down of the earthier warm comforting notes that combine with sweeter ones of sandalwood and benzoin . Just a perfect ending with thesenotes -Leather, Ginger, Amber, Tobacco leaf, Patchouli, Oakmoss, Vetiver, Sandalwood, Cedar, Labdanum, Musk and Benzoin
Weakest points
I liked this one
Summary
We go from a floral slightly fruity opening with the top notes: Lotus, Magnolia, Violet leaf, Hyacinth, Mandarin orange and Bergamot. After a shortish while this calms and the more sweet rosy floral notes combine with beautiful heliotrope and orris root as well as Rose, Ylang-ylang, Neroli, Osmanthus, Orris root, Lily-of-the-valley and Black currant blossom.

The best part in my opinion is the dry don and tis I am happy to say lasts quite well on me and I love the more masculine notes of the Leather, Ginger, Amber, Tobacco leaf, Patchouli, Oakmoss, Vetiver, Sandalwood, Cedar, Labdanum, Musk and Benzoin.

I decided that for 2015 I was going to step out of my Chanel scented comfort zone and try some new fragrances. I got this 30 ml Petale Noir on sale, so thought if I didn't like it, I wouldn't feel like I'd wasted a chunk of change and could pass it on without remorse. What first got my attention was the gorgeously vintage-feel of the fragrance. The scent reminds me very much of something my mother (or even grandmother) would have worn. Top note is very floral, but shifts down a gear to a wonderfully warm rosey scent. The base is surprisingly masculine (amber, sandalwood, cedar and musk) but this doesn't make it too strong. I think this is where the "noir" part of the fragrance name may come from. Again, I can't emphasise enough the vintage feel of this perfume. I would love to be able to try it in an eau du toilette, but AP don't make one.
