(1) What is a forum spam?
Forum spam is the creating of messages for marketing, abusive or malicious purposes and it is otherwise unwanted on internet forums. It is generally done by automated spambots but can also be posted manually by a member.
We have a zero-tolerance spam policy.
(2) Activation link
Our first level of detection is the activation link email sent to you after the registration.
The purpose of the activation link is to ensure that the user signs up with a real, active email address that they own. This limits the number of times someone can sign up, and prevents people who have been booted off a site from signing up again multiple times with fake email addresses. User access is denied until the activation link is open in the browser.
(3) Stop Forum Spam
Our second level of protection is the use of the Stop Forum Spam website.
It provides lists of spammers that persist in abusing forums and blogs with their scams, ripoffs, exploits and other annoyances. We use these lists so that we don't have to endure the never ending job of having to moderate, filter and delete their rubbish.
For every new member, we manually check registrations and posts against the Stop Forum Spam database. If his/her details, including IP and email addresses, usernames, how busy he/she is and, in some cases, evidence of his/her spam are listed as known forum and blog spammers, we would delete the new account without warning.
(4) You are not spammer
No message filtering system is 100% accurate, and from time to time legitimate accounts or messages will be filtered-out by our moderator.
If you believe this has happened to a message you sent or to an account you created, please contact us.
(5) User spam
We provide a facility that enables users to send private messages to others. Users must not use this facility to send unsolicited, bulk or indiscriminate messages, whether or not for a commercial purposes. Full terms and conditions concerning the use of the facility are set out in Terms and Conditions.
(6) Receipt of unwanted messages from us
In the unlikely event that you receive any message from us or sent using our systems that may be considered to be spam, please contact us and the matter will be investigated.
(7) Changes to this anti-spam policy
We may amend this anti-spam policy at any time by publishing a new version on this website.
(8) Contact us
