Description

It’s hard to stick to all the rules. Eight hours sleep a night, two litres of water a day, plenty of exercise, five fruit and veg etc. This mask is for when you have overdone things and let the rules slide. A detox to get tired and dull skin back to being radiant and glowing.
Helen researched Ayurveda detoxing ingredients and has combined them here with some of our other favourite ingredients, because she wanted a mask that was stimulating, but balanced by calming kind ingredients:
• Sage, Juniper and rosemary infusions, ground cardamon and clove bud oil for their antiseptic qualities.
• Eggs, honey and almond oil to soothe, soften and moisturise the skin.
• Fresh fennel, fresh ginger root, fresh parsley and fresh coriander to detox, and stimulate - and their enzymes will help break down dead skin cells.
• Fresh lime juice cleans and degreases.
• Ground almond shells act as a stimulating scrub to lift away dead grey skin.
• Finally kaolin and talc absorb grease and give a lovely texture to hold all those ingredients onto the skin.
Together they make a mask that will wake up tired, neglected skin. This product is hand made at the factory fresh each day in small batches without preservatives.

Directions

Cleanse your face and pat dry. Smooth a good dollop of fresh face mask over your entire face, making sure to avoid the eyes and mouth. Leave the mask on for about ten minutes (do not let the mask dry completely). Now is a good time to read the latest Lush Times. Wash off with warm water, follow with your favourite toner and moisturizer.
- Tip: You need to keep it in your fridge at home and use them within three weeks, whilst the ingredients are still fresh and active.

Summary
Warning! Under no circumstances must you eat this product, no matter how delicious it smells...
I'm not being biased but I love lush product 100% (okay, sounds totally biased) , they never fail to hold their great expectations and always aim to deliver their high standards to such customers. Having used many brands over the years in my teens, I have finally settled for lush not because of their aroma-therapeutic scents (because they are heavenly) but because of the effectiveness of the products which in my opinion do satisfy the customer and actually work! Whilst applying the product, it may feel slightly harsh to the skin but nonetheless the results had left my face smooth and soft after washing it off with warm water. I would walk around the whole day feeling rejuvenated and glowing. I do recommend this product and guarantee it will hold up to your expectations, you might even become addicted to it.

Summary
I love lush products. This has lots of fresh ingredients in it so it must be stored in the fridge mine lasted about 4-6 weeks. I usually use this when I have had a few too many late party nights when my skin is dehydrated and feeling yucky. Once I put this on my skin I'd left soft, smooth, feels refreshed and looks radiant again.
I especially like that this is suitable for vegans and isn't tested on animals!

I am a brazened Honey

This facepack is a golden yellow colour, about the same as a field of ripe wheat or a Victoria sandwich cake mix prior to cooking.
It is very thick rather like a paste, thick mud texture and not at all runny. In fact I find it rather too thick so as I am spreading it on my face I add a bit of water to smooth it on more easily.
What does it smell like? Well it has quite a strong herby smell but fresh. I can detect the fresh lemon and the sweetness of the honey too. The other smell must be a combination of cardamom, clove, ginger and other spices as it has a very strong powerful smell in my opinion. The smell is really hard to describe and I seem to be making a very poor attempt.

WHAT DO YOU DO WITH IT?
Well when I use my facemask I always start with clean skin and so I use a cleanser to wipe away any grime of the day. And in my case it has to be a Lush cleanser called 9 to 5 as I really like this one and find it quite gentle.
Next stage is one I was advised to add by the girl in the Lush shop one day and that is to give my face a feed with a serum and the one I use is a great little bar of serum called ‘Full of Grace’. This ensures that your face doesn’t get too dried out and feeds it while you are having the facemask.

Then open the pot of facemask and spread it all over your face except around the eyes. As I said I find the Brazened Honey one quite thick so I help it by wetting my hands to smooth it on.
According to Lush you shouldn’t let it go completely dry and crusty before washing it off but I leave mine until dry as I usually get in the bath and lie there. If it does get dry then it doesn’t matter as I can use lots of water to gently wash it off.
Prior to washing this one off though I make use of the lovely ground almonds in the facepack and give my face a bit of an exfoliation as I take the mask off.
I then get out of the bath and dry myself patting my face dry before I reach for the toner to close those pores and then of course moisturise as for night or day depending on when you use it.

WHAT DOES IT FEEL LIKE?
As I lie in the bath I can smell the exotic herby and spicy aroma which I love. I really relax and lie back and sniff. I love the gentle exfoliation and afterwards I find my skin feels very soft and looks awake. The fine lines and wrinkles are still there but it just looks fresher and I feel like I have had a deep clean too. I am past the age when I suffer from spots but I do think that the lime and ginger help clean my pores and they look less big and open.

I have read on the Lush website that some people find this too harsh for their skin and that it has brought them out with a red face. I have quite a sensitive skin and am allergic to many cosmetic chemicals but this has not given me any problems and I have used three pots over the last two years. I do like a change so don’t always get the same one.

Strongest points
You can get this free with fie black pots returned to Lush. The ingredients in this are supposed to refresh and help your skin recover if you have had too many late nights. It smells lovely.
Weakest points
As these are made with fresh ingredients they have a limited life and must be stored in the fridge. I have once had two face packs as I was given one in the shop and because we were just about to go on holiday I stuck it in the freezer. We were away about four weeks and when I returned I retrieved my facepack and it was absolutely fine, it lasted another six weeks in the fridge and smelled great and I used it once a week for the six weeks.
Summary
I wish I could describe the smell better but it is strong, zingy but has a sweet after nose if that makes sense. It does make my skin feel awake and alive so I am happy. I am especially happy as it was free although it does cost £5.25 if you don’t have five pots to hand back.
