Directions
Apply liberally to lips as needed. Use under any Aveda lip colour.
A good lip balm that left lips feeling much more moisturised, but there was no special effects that put this balm separate from the rest.
Very thick and I found it was really waxy, too heavy for lips unless they are seriously suffering.
I found the price to be far too high so unless that took over half of the price off, I would not recommend it as there are balms out there that match, or do better.
This lip balm by Aveda always receives rave reviews and I have purchased one of these based on what I have read. There are some huge pros to this product however sadly there are a few cons. The balm contains some fabulous ingredients of Anise oil, Beeswax, Brazilian carnauba wax, Cinnamon leaf, Clove oil, Sunflower oil, Vitamin E. These are all stand alone beneficial ingredients for moisturising and protecting dry skin. The first con of this product is that it has a high level of wax in it which makes the product feel quite thick on the lips. I call it a con as I do not particularly relish this kind of consistency in a lip product; however, this is personal preference only. If you do have dry lips to start with this balm can cling to the chapped bits and look quite unsightly (con no.2). It does not really penetrate fully and tends to sit on the surface. BUT! If you can persevere for a couple of days you will be astounded by the results. After continued use your lips feels so soft and moisturised with not a dry patch in site and your lips return quickly to the former health. There is an SP15 in this balm which is great for outdoors activities. There is a very strange fragrance and taste to this product which is a little herbal with a hint of anise and clove which are quite astringents flavours; however, this does not prevent me from using it on a regular basis. I prefer to use this in the winter as it is a thicker product and it is regularly stolen by my husband who finds it a ‘must have’ product for outside labour
