I think this is very expensive for a product that is not natural and I am not happy that it is not cruelty free. It is okay but nothing special that justifies the high price.I have a small sample sachet with enough product for around five uses. The contents don't seem to have much of a smell which is a bonus as the previous Philosophy product I reviewed smelled awful.
This is like a thickish lotion with gritty bits in consistency. It is translucent sort of cloudy but colourless.

I apply this with my finger tips onto my damp face and gently massage it using my finger tips in a circular and upward motion. I then apply a little more water and continue massaging my skin and then rinse it all off using a face cloth wiping my skin upwards.
It doesn't foam but does sort of go creamy like a lather once wet, a bit like soap lather to look at but not frothy just creamy.

It doesn't smell much when wet either, just slightly soap like, or like mild smelling bubble mixture.
It doesn't hit you in the face as a smell and it does seem quite gentle considering the gritty bits in it.

After rinsing this off I gently pat my face dry then tone it, apply serum then moisturiser. Before toning etc my skin felt very clean but quite in need of some moisturising and I certainly wouldn't just use this and nothing else.
This did the job but it was nothing remarkable and didn't leave my face looking healthy, radiant and youthful. I personally prefer exfoliators with natural scrubby bits like ground rice or ground almonds as they are gentler on my skin . My skin felt smooth and certainly clean and the pores less obvious and maybe slightly more alive rather than truly radiant but then I am in my mid sixties so cannot really expect to look forty!

This is marketed as an exfoliator or mini peel and has no sulfates in the ingredients which is a positive. It has ingredients designed to “replenish, protect, and improve skin’s texture.” It also has antioxidants which help the skin fight the ravages of daily life and “ condition the skin and help retain its moisture level, leaving behind a hydrated, healthy-looking complexion.”
I can't say I noticed any improvement in my skin after five days of using this but found it okay but nothing special enough to justify the high price tag.

Strongest points
A really effective exfoliator.
Weakest points
Scent goes off and smells horrible quite quickly.
Summary
This claims to be a daily wash but I found the texture to be very harsh and far too stripping for daily use. I would use this once a week tops and as such I found that it went off and started to smell horrible.
This is a shame for a high-end product.
The packaging was very useful and I did find that it really exfoliated my skin well.

Strongest points
Gentle, effective face/neck exfoliator.
Fragrance very light.
Requires only a small amount.
Nature & science working well.
Weakest points
Maybe the price point for some, but as you only need a small amount, the 240ml bottle will last.
Summary
I was lucky enough to receive this as a 30ml sample. I haven't really used an exfoliator as part of a daily routine. This one is designed for daily use, due to its lightness and gentle application. I was sceptical, as I have had dry skin in my opinion for years, but recently find its been more dehydrated than dry. I have never had flakey facial skin so I suppose my skin was never really dry. I have recently noticed alittle more oiliness across my t-zone. The lovely lady at Philosophy check my skin and recommend I try this product, to help dimishes excess oil and blemish/redness that was appearing. The exfoliator would keep the surface of my skin fresh and renewed, removing any dead skin cells that could clog. I have to admit this is very gentle, the granulas are so tiny, they don't dissolved, you have to wash away. It isn't scratchy, which I was worried about. You massage the granulas over you skin for just one minute, the wash away, or remove with a cloth. I choose to wash away. My skin does feel envigorated, plumped and definitely has a fresh clean glow. Infact my skin feels brighter, so I must have had a lot of dead cells on the surface. Unbeknown to me. I would recommend this face exfoliator, as a daily used product. My skin is certainly feeling a lot better, and as I am using it with the Philosophy Purity foaming 3 n 1 gel wash for an oily skin, I am getting happy results.
