This is a stunningly effective peel/ scrub by L’Occitane and if you are a fan of apples it’s a must have!! The scrub is also classed as a peel; however peel is a little misleading for me as I feel it is more of a purifying mask in performance. The product comes in a heavyweight glass jar with a metal screw top lid and although this heavy jar is not ideal for travel it is really attractive. The product inside looks just like apple puree but it is infused with fine crushed almond shells which do not scratch or irritate the skin. I normally prefer more heavyweight scrubs buts the other effects of this product on the skin far outweigh the mildness of the exfoliation. The texture or the peel is thick and you only need a small amount per application. It can be used several times a week due to its gentle composition. The fragrance is absolutely gorgeous!! As you would expect it has a beautiful scent of apples with subtle almond which gives a marzipan edge to the fragrance! The peel also contains almond oil for softening and moisturising and apple cider which is toning and tightening on the pores and skin. Apple cider also has anti-inflammatory properties and gives amazing results on flare-ups and irritated skins.
When I first purchased this I was advised to apply a small amount to my damp face and to massage gently. Once this process is done I then leave the product on my face for up to 5 minutes or until it begins to dry. I then rinse away with warm water. The immediate results are fantastic! My skin feels soft, supple, moisturized and I am always amazed at how this product cleans out the pores and tones the skin. You can literally feel the toning action and you have a brighter noticeable complexion after use. One warning is don’t leave the lid off your jar for too long as the apple begins to form a crust over the surface (a sign of pure ingredients).
This is an excellent multi-tasking mask with immediate and visible results and for me it is worth every penny for such a pure, chemical free product. Highly recommended
