How to use
Pat onto your face and gently work into skin using upwards strokes.
This is our ultimate face cream. The one where we didn’t hold back and used the very best, most effective ingredients in nature’s store cupboard, with no expense spared.
We make a light, loose emulsion from six beautiful plant oils. We then blitz fresh pineapples and filter their juice, squeeze fresh organic lemons and oranges, add orange blossom honey water, neroli essential oil, orange flower absolute and myrrh – then blend the whole lot gently through the cream.
So why all of that?
A loose emulsion, rather than a thick heavy one, means that the ingredients are available to the skin and free to sink in, rather than locked together.
The oils are a combination that are rich enough to soften and moisturise the skin whilst leaving it feeling light and soft.
The pineapple has enzymes which act on the skin whilst the lemon and orange will help the skin stay matte and naturally contain alpha hydroxy acids.
Orange blossom honey soothes and moisturises the skin.
Combine all of these benefits with the fact that we have the absolute minimum amount of preservative in here – just enough to keep the product pure but not too much to damage the natural micro-flora of your skin.
We make this fresh, in small batches, and get it to our shops quickly – so you can buy it fresh and use it whilst it is still vital and active.
Plant oils can be extracted by heat extraction or by cold pressing. We have chosen expensive cold-pressed oils for this cream, so none of their natural properties have been damaged by the heat.
The history of this product reaches out beyond Lush. Many years ago Jo Malone, a high-end cosmetics company, made a cream for Princess Dianna, which she was very fond of and endorsed. An investor and sleeping partner in Lush bought the rights to it some years later and launched the product back onto the market, complete with its own little silver spatula. But he asked the Lush founders if they could have a look at the formula, because it had been changed over the years. When Mark and Helen were asked to return the cream to its former glory, it was a great opportunity because they were able to take a look to see how it could be improved without having any worries about price.
This was a cream designed for royalty and sold at huge cost – so they were able to select the very best of everything. When the brand was later sold on again, Lush retained the rights to the formula. We renamed it Gorgeous and present it to you here, in all its ultimate, royal, expensive glory. ?
