Summary
I received a 7ml sample of Dermalogica Skin Smoothing Cream as a bonus from the Beauty on Trial in early February and since then has been testing it. It has been the first time I tried Dermatologica, but their natural ingredients oriented policy has compelled to me greatly. The cream works miracles with my prone to dryness skin - it provides for deep nourishment and delivers visible results - following the evening application each morning I witnessed perfectly smooth and supple skin, even skin tone. The cream absorbs well and leaves no uncomfortable feeling due to its light texture. The only thing which really disturbed me all the time was the scent.... Well, it is difficult to describe what it reminds me of, but it is probably a cross between new linoleum scent and resin smell. In first seconds of application it is almost unbearable, but to its credit the cream melts in quite quickly and the scent is fading as well. The rest about the cream lived to my highest expectations.
I had a package of samples from Dermalogica and they all worked well together but I did find that they fell apart when not used in conjunction. Overall I think, for the price, you can do better for a daily moisturiser.
Easily absorbed and does leave skin feeling soft and even. Classic packaging. A little product goes a long way
Weakest points
Contains silicone. Unpleasant chemical scent
Summary
I am a little on the fence about this product. Whilst the cream is easily absorbed I was initially unhappy with the fragrance. It has a slight chemical scent and although it would not put me off using the product I thought it was a little lapse for such a high priced cream. Secondly I agree, my skin did feel very smooth but I was disturbed to read that this cream contains silicones which of course are in many make-up primers so was this the reason my skin felt so smooth? The cream is nicely moisturising but I am not sure that I would re-purchase due to some of the ingredients contained in this product
