Amalia Beaute Anti-Ageing Cream With Argan Oil Bio 60ml
I have heard so much about the wonders of Argan oil and so when I found this cream on ebay at the very reasonable price of around £5 I thought it was worth giving it a try.
The pot comes in a cardboard outer package which looks like a quality product in a cream colour with the product name on the top and front. The pot inside is plastic which I liked for two reasons; first it was not likely to break if I dropped it on the bathroom tiles and secondly it was much lighter than glass. I also like pots with screw off lids as you can get every last bit bit out of the pot. I also used this pot washed out to take some body lotion in when we went away as it was screw lidded so not likely to spill and light and about the amount I needed for our trip. I could then dump the pot when empty saving me bringing it home again.
If you are at home then the card outer and the pot are both fully recyclable through the normal card and plastic recycling.
The product claims
“Argan Oil Bio effectively restores and maintains the elasticity, tone and hydration of the epidermis. From the first applications wrinkles are reduced and the complexion becomes radiant thanks to the many virtues of Argan oil which is rich in unsaturated fatty acids, linoleic acid vitamin F which has good hydrating properties and is also rich in vitamin E.”
This little pot of cream is supposed to help reduce lines and wrinkles, smooth rough skin, reduce darkening under the eyes and make your skin look younger.
This seems to be the new magic ingredient that us the cure for all ills of the hair and skin. Argan oil comes from Morocco and is from the kernel of a nut/fruit grown on a large tree . In the old days the Berber people would collect the undigested kernels from the goat poo. Goats love these fruit so much that they actually climb the trees to get the fruit. These days I am surprised that Morocco can actually supply all the factories that claim to be producing argan products. Presumably they now have more refined methods of collecting the kernels and refining them for the oil.
Argan oil is supposed to be excellent for both skin and hair. It is good for teenage skin with acne as well as an anti ageing ingredient. It is full of anti oxidants
Another benefit of this huge interest in argan oil has been that the Moroccan government have realised how valuable the trees are and are protecting them and encouraging planting more. Also the collection of the fruit is mainly done by women's co-operatives and of course they now have lots of work and that has increased their income. According to information gleaned from the internet “ At present, argan oil production supports approximately 2.2 million people in the main argan oil producing region “
These trees being planted and looked after also helps the environment as they prevent wind destroying the soil. The trees provide oxygen and trees are always good with their roots holding the soil, the leaves giving shade so encouraging grasses for pastures .
This was a thick cream slightly pinkish in colour that had a subtle floral fruity aroma. I only needed a small amount and it went a long way on my face. I tended to use this as a night cream as it was quite dense. It did soak in quite well and didn't leave me feeling like I'd fallen in an oil slick. In fact it felt soft and moist rather than greasy.
My pot lasted me a month and more and during that time my skin felt nice and soft and moisturised. It didn't get sore or spotty at all. I can't say my lines and wrinkles disappeared but they have not got any worse. I think that the possibility of them going is realistically fairly unlikely but I am trying to stop the ageing process galloping on at quite such a speed.
I am not sure what else in here part from the Argan oil but whatever else they mix it with doesn't have any irritating qualities and smells very nice.
I think that for the price this small pot of argan oil cream is that I got excellent value,. Once I have finished my stash of products that I appear to have collected I would be more than happy to buy this again. It is cheap and effective and if argan oil has all the benefits they claim for my skin I will be happy. I am also happy that the harvesting and growing of argan is good for the environment and the people as so many things seem to have a negative effect from harvesting these days.
If you type in the name of this in a search engine you will find it for sale in a few websites for around £5/6 which I think is fantastic value for what you get. It was available on amazon but is no longer, it may return.
