PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) publish and update daily a searchable database of companies that Do and that Don't test their products on animals. You can search it by company name or by product type to find out which of your favorite products are cruelty-free.
- Their list of Companies That Do Test on Animals includes both companies that manufacture animal-tested products and brands that are owned by companies that have not yet adopted a permanent "no animal testing" policy. Companies on this list may manufacture individual lines of products without animal testing. They have not, however, eliminated animal testing from their entire line of cosmetics and household products.
- Their list of Companies That Don't Test on Animals includes cosmetics, personal care, and household cleaning product companies only. Companies listed either have signed PETA's statement of assurance oTo r provided a statement verifying that they do not conduct or commission any animal tests on ingredients, formulations, or finished products and that they pledge not to do so in the future.
