I wish I had not overlooked the E45 un-fragranced moisturising body lotion for all these years.
I had always thought it would be a boring body lotion and used to buy more expensive and/or fancy products.
After these long winter months of over-heated rooms, my skin was in desperate need of some TLC.
I used to think the E45 lotion was for skin condition rather than every day use. How wrong was I ?
I love the texture, it feels really thick but is very easily absorbed.
The fact it is perfume free is perfect for use with fragrance: I often avoid wearing body lotion if I wear perfume to avoid clashing scents.
This was the first time ever I felt confident of using a body lotion for my face : the texture is very similar to other (more expensive) face and hand cream. Since it is perfume-free, hypoallergenic and the texture feels "right", I had every confidence to use it as a face-cream.
Unlike body lotion of similar thickness, it doesn't feel the slightest bit greasy and gets absorbed really easily.
After a week of use, I can definitely see improvement to the body as my skin feels more supple and less itchy.
Same for my hands.
So far, I couldn't find any downside for this product.
I will use the new lightly fragranced version when I want a treat at week-end and not wearing any other perfume.
And I am now a long-term convert for the plain, classic version which I will use whenever I wear perfume.
I will probably use the perfume-free moisturising lotion on a daily basis to replace expensive hand-cream and will use it as a back-up face cream when I run out of my usual moisturiser or when I am on the go and need a quick fix
My only regret is to have been prejudiced about the "boring" look, "over-familiar" feel of the E45 lotion for so many years. There really are plenty of reasons this has been a family favourite for all these years ! And no, E45 isn't ONLY for skin-condition, it feels perfect for most type of skin.
