I have recently bought quite a few samples of Weleda products from various on line beauty trial sites but this I bought from Amazon for about £6.30 as I have liked their other products and I had a few Amazon vouchers left to treat myself to something.
I also like Weleda’s philosophy with regard to supporting sutainable projects in places beyond Europe. They purchase raw materials paying fair prices and encouraging ethical practices generally.
I was quite excited to learn that Weleda has a factory in Ilkeston in Derbyshire, not that this means I can benefit from thois with cheap reject products but nice to know they are in my county.
A ROSE BY ANY OTHER NAME....
Weleda buy their Damask roses from Turkey where they have the largest organic rose project in the world! This is a truly great success story because now 300 farmers have switched their farming to sustainable organic rose cultivation since 2001. Apparently one third of the world’s crop for perfume Rose Absolute is produced here organically for Weleda.
WILD ROSE BATH CREAM
This is an organic product and is suitable for vegans too. The creaminess comes from the rosehip oil, which is blended with organic essential oil of Damask rose which of course gives the lovely natural rose fragrance. The rose hip oil comes from hile and it has be found that the seeds in the rosehips give a fantastically beneficial oil with 80-90% unsaturated fatty acids that have been found to have a healing ability and can help keep skin blemish free.
In the rose oil are the beneficial vitamins A, B and E as well as essential fatty acids which are so good for dry skin as well as helping to create a natural moisture balance in normal skin.
It comes in a plastic recyclable upside down tube; this means that the product comes out easily as it sits on its lid. It is a pretty pink colour so looks nice on the bath side.
MY ROSY EXPERIENCE
As I opened this initially I was impressed with the natural scented rose smell and I squeezed a bit onto my hands and washed my hands in this as I couldn’t wait to try it out. It didn’t lather up a lot but did feel nice and creamy and once rinsed my hands smelled rosy and didn’t feel dried out at all but I did treat them to my Melvita Rose hand cream to layer my rose smelling goodies.
When using it in the bath I save this for special relaxing night baths when I can smother myself in the cream and then lie back and let it soak off which makes the bath water smell slightly rosy too. I am not sure I would use this if I had been out gardening and wanted a really good clean. This gives a gentle sweet smelling creamy wash which leaves my whole body feeling clean and not at all dried out.
It is not quite as moisturising as using Lush’s Ro’s Argan but more like their Turkish Delight bath cream but with a little more lathering quality.
EVEN MORE BENEFITS
This bath cream has been created specially to both harmonise with the body using aromatherapy as well as nourishing tired dry skin.
Not only is it great for your skin but unlike many other bath products this will not harm the environment when you let it go down the plughole. The cleansers in this are eco friendly and are based on natural sugar and coconut and they are totally biodegradable and will not harm river or marine life in anyway.
Yes I really like this one but look out for the different prices as even on Amazon it varies from the £6.37 including free P&P that I paid through to the amazing £459.36. Seriously I have not typed that incorrectly but apparently there are only three left at that price!! On the Weleda site it is over £8 so Amazon have a good deal if you fancy trying this.
This weleda rose body wash creme is lovely and gentle.
The cream is just the right consistancy and is easy to squeeze into bath lily.
It lathers slightly but not overl so which will be due to the natural ingreadients and lack of lather additives.
The rose scent is nice and subtle and not overpowering at all.
The creme cleans skin effectively and leaves skin hydrated and clean.
A really pleasent product to use.
