LAVENDER IS FOR OLD LADIES ISN’T IT?
Weleda gets it supplies of lavender oil from places in Bulgaria, South Africa and Moldova.
Moldova, part of the Former Soviet Union, has great soil and conditions for laveneder growing and as many farmers here live below the poverty line this lavender crop provides a regular and easy income as the plants are relatively disease hardy and easy to care for.
I actually love the scent of lavender and have several bushed in my garden although last year all the rain didn’t really help some of them. I pick the flowers and put them in vases around the house with no water and they scent the rooms nicely. I also make little bags for my wardrobes as it not only makes my clothes smell nice but it does help keep moths away.
LAVENDER BATH CREAM
This is an organic product and is suitable for vegans too. The creaminess comes from the sesame seed oil, which is blended with organic essential oil of Lavender flowers which of course gives the lovely natural lavender fragrance.
The sesame seed oil not only provides moisturising goodness but also has protective anti-oxidants.
It comes in a plastic recyclable upside down tube; this means that the product comes out easily as it sits on its lid. It is a pretty pink colour so looks nice on the bath side.
MY LAVENDER EXPERIENCE
As I opened this initially I was impressed with the natural lavender smell and it does not smell sweet and air freshener like at all but more like my own lavender flowers. I squeezed a bit onto my hands and washed my hands in this as I couldn’t wait to try it out. It didn’t lather up a lot but did feel nice and creamy and once rinsed my hands smelled of lavender and didn’t feel dried out at all .
When using it in the bath I save this for special relaxing night baths when I can smother myself in the cream and then lie back and let it soak off which makes the bath water smell of lavender and as most people know lavender essential oil is great for relieving tension and helping you relax and sleep better .
EVEN MORE BENEFITS
This bath cream has been created specially to both harmonise with the body using aromatherapy as well as nourishing tired dry skin. The product has been carefully PH balanced and refreshes and nourishes skin while relaxing the mind and body. The scent does linger on my body and certainly in the bathroom so the benefits carry on working.
Not only is it great for your skin but unlike many other bath products this will not harm the environment when you let it go down the plughole. The cleansers in this are eco friendly and are based on natural sugar and coconut and they are totally biodegradable and will not harm river or marine life in anyway.
Yes I really like this one but look out for the different prices as even on Amazon it varies from the £7.50 including free P&P that I paid through to similar or less but with higher P&P. On the Weleda site it is over £7.95 so Amazon have a good deal if you fancy trying this.
This shower wash is lovely, the consistancy is creamy and not too runny.
It lathers up easily releasing a subtle relaxing lavender scent.
It washes skin effectively leaving it fresh, clean and soft.
I love weleda and the fact that this shower wash is made from natural ingreadients
