Very gentle and moisturising
Creamy texture with no SLS
I have very dry skin and this product appealed because it has no SLS and is aimed at people with "very dry skin". The formula is similar to products I have had on prescription; similar to Aveeno Bath Oil. It is very thick and quite creamy. It feels very comfortable on the skin and it didn't dry my skin out. Although if you like a lather, this is not for you.
What lets this down and the reason I would not purchase it, is the hemp fragrance. At best it is an acquired taste but I find it revolting. Fortunately it doesn't linger on the skin and washes away with the product. The only nice thing I can say about the scent is that it is fairly unisex.
My bottle of that Moisturising Wash is close to end and I want to say thank you for the chance to try it! Works really good, moisturises well my very dry skin.
Another thing that is important is that I suffer from eczema and that gel helped me,I can't beleive that my skin looks good and it's really softer after using The Body Shop Hemp Moisturising Wash.
The scent is unusual as it has an earthy, herbal smell which is different to most other shower products.
It soothes and nourishes dry skin.
Suitable for both sexes as it is not feminine in style or smell.
It is not tested on animals and is fairtrade too.
It does not produce a great lather as it is soap-free and the scent will not suit everyone.
Packaging looks like a cough bottle.
I found this product grew on me over time. Initially, I found the scent strange but it became quite addictive and reminded me of a walk through a forest with nettles and moss and all things green.
My Fiance said the smell reminded him of the hemp ropes used for the horses on the farm when he was a child.
I am used to products which lather and it was difficult to judge how much to use as it seemed to disappear and you ended up pouring more out of the bottle.
I found it worked best if applied to damp skin and then it produced a creamy film which then washed off easily.
It left my skin feeling soothed and softer too and the scent lingered for some time after.
I'd recommend this for people suffering with really dry skin that have found other products unsuccessful, this really does moisturise, hydrate and sooth.
The wash has a slightly oily consistency which I found good for my really dry skin.
My skin looked and felt less 'angry'.
Not tested on animals.
The fragrance is hard to get used to and reminded me of the medicated shampoo that my Mum used on me!
It is quite expensive for the amount in the bottle.
It didn't lather up like most washes, so I used too much by accident the first couple of times.
As a slightly oily liquid wash for very dry skin, the product works well, and soothes the skin.
The fragrance smells medicated, so it loses any luxurious points it might have because of this.
I have sensitive skin that can be prone to dryness or patches of eczema. I found the slight oiliness of this product very soothing on the skin and also quite moisturizing. There is a temptation to use the same amount of this wash as you would a regular shower gel, but due to its oiliness, it's best to use a smaller amount and then gently smooth it over wet skin before washing it off.
- A medicinal scent, but not unpleasant.
- A thin and slightly oily texture, but due to the oiliness of the wash, a little goes a long way.
- Soothing and moisturizing.
- Suitable for sensitive and dry skin.
If you want a product that lathers, this doesn't.
A soothing and moisturizing wash that's suitable for sensitive and dry skin.
