La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Hands Barrier Repairing Cream

Description

La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Hands restores the comfort of even the most damaged skin with its glove-like nourishment. The innovative formula soothes and protects sore hands, ensuring long lasting comfort with a 30% concentration of glycerine. An antihistamine effect is provided by a 4% concentration of Niacinamide, which reduces inflammation and prevents the formation of cracked skin.
After 4 weeks, the skin is less irritated, red and sore. The hands appear rejuvenated with its barrier function boosted, and repeated aggressions are reduced. Smooth the non-sticky, non-oily Cicaplast Hands onto the hands as often as required. The rapidly absorbed balm-cream is suitable for all skin types including atopic skin, and is allergy tested under dermatological control.

Summary
La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Hands Barrier Repairing Cream is a decent hand cream that acts more like a barrier cream than a treatment one. It has a gel-like or glue like texture and no fragrance at all. The absorption could have been faster, but to the cream's credit it does not leave any stickiness or oiliness after it is fully absorbed (which is about 5 to 10 minutes). It is a great treatment in cold weather - the hands are well protected against the harsh cold wind/air and consequent dryness. The cream works as long as it is in use i.e. as soon as you stop the skin returns to its previous condition in a day or two. Still, the cream has its benefits (including those listed above) as well as a convenient packaging; and it indeed delivers its barrier effect, so I can recommend the product.

Strongest points
Fragrance-free. A Vaseline-like texture that's very soothing when applied. Good value for money as a little goes a long way. Relieves skin soreness, and leaves dry skin feeling soft. After application, the cream leaves a barrier on the skin, so is ideal for those who have to wash their hands a lot.
Weakest points
Takes a while to properly absorb.
Summary
An excellent hand cream that relieves both skin soreness and dryness.
