Description

Sudocrem is a decades-old remedy for soothing irritated skin, including acne, eczema, bedsores, cuts and burns, sunburn, chilblains, and nappy rash. First on the market in the 1930s, Sudocrem is a versatile and widely-applied cream for all the family. Its success is largely due to a combination of ingredients that are known to calm inflamed skin, keep it free of bacteria, and to nourish and protect skin from excessive moisture loss. These include zinc oxide, lanolin, and benzyl alcohol.
Unlike some skin treatments, it is free of irritants such as fragrance, colorants, and parabens, which can aggravate or dry out skin. This makes it ideal for sensitive skin, and is why it can be used on delicate baby’s skin when treating nappy rash.
In addition to its antibacterial action and skin-healing qualities, it has a mild anaesthetic action that helps to mask pain. Its emollient properties also protect the skin’s natural barrier and prevent excessive moisture loss. Its gentle, effective action means that it doesn’t sting when applied, but will help to improve most of the skin conditions described above.

Directions

- NAPPY RASH:
Apply Sudocrem Antiseptic Healing Cream to help treat and heal existing nappy rash and soothe your baby’s skin.
• Step 1: Ensure your baby’s bottom is clean and dry
• Step 2: With clean and dry hands, place a small amount of Sudocrem on the tip of your finger. Remember, a little goes a long way
• Step 3: Gently massage the cream into the skin using light, circular movements. Try to avoid rubbing, especially if the skin looks sore
• Step 4: Try to create a thin, translucent film on the skin. If white cream is still visible then you may have used too much (don’t worry, your baby will be fine, just remember to use a little less next time)
Repeat these steps until the rash has cleared.
- OTHER USES: Cuts, Grazes, Minor burns, Bed sores, Chilblains, Acne, Eczema, Sunburn
• Step 1: Ensuring your hands are clean and dry, place a small amount of Sudocrem Antiseptic Healing Cream on the tip of your finger
• Step 2: Gently massage the cream into the affected area using light, circular movements
• Step 3: Try to create a thin, translucent film on the skin. If the white cream is still visible then you may have used too much (this is ok, just remember to use a little less next time).

Summary
For as long as I can remember this has been a staple in my home, all my family have a tub of sudocrem in their home but not just for babies for everyone to use.
It has multiple uses and is the first antiseptic product we reach for.
It can not only be used to protect baby's bottoms against nappy rash but also when they get very sore from certain nappies like my son.
We use this for burns, acne, skin rashes, cuts and grazes and cracked skin and also sore skin.
It's a great barrier cream and a small amount goes along way so it lasts along time.

The antiseptic properties help to prevent infection and also calms the skin.

It can be messy when getting it out of the tub so what I tend to so is to fold a sensitive baby wipe up and then use that to get the cream out of the tub, this also makes application alot easier as the baby wipes make the cream spread onto the skin so much easier and also a even layer. When using your finger sometimes it can make the product drag in places which can be sore.

So I suggest to use a folded baby wipe for application it really does make a huge difference

Strongest points

Summary
This antiseptic works great on reddened skin especially for a baby with a nappy rash as it reduces and soothes the sore inflamed skin whilst leaving the skin feeling soft and smooth, however the sudocrem does stain the clothes as it's oily.I do recommend it because it works well on clearing the redness.
